Cold Air intake question

Hey guys, I don't really know a lot about cobalts, but i ordered a cold air intake for a friend because she has an (i believe 2006) 2.0 supercharged. Anyways, i installed the intake for her but the maf sensor mounting part was backwards so the holes didn't line up unless i flipped the sensor 180 degrees, which obviously makes the car idle like it has a stage 3 cam. For now i have is ziptied in the correct way.

Here is a link to what i have. I installed it the correct way, or what i believe to be correct. Just noticed today that they seem to show everything backwards. Can anyone confirm this?

2005-2007 CHEVY COBALT SUPERCHARGED SS DOHC 2.0L COLD AIR INTAKE W/ RED FILTER | eBay

I did some looking around and it looks like all these "cheap" intakes are assembled backwards. They have the maf sensor part by the throttle body, and the vacuum hose (i think) by the filter in the wheel well.

I sent the guy an email about this, just looking for some confirmation from the guys that know what they're talking about. Thanks

Return it...buy something more quality

and to verify the resistor on the MAF sensor should face the filter side of the intake

Get a good brand intake. or just swisscheese the airbox and get a K&N replacement filter which In my opinion would be better than some piece of pipe welded together in someone's garage.

That's my exact setup, and it actually flows more air than my Injen intake ever did.

That is the factory airbox for my SS/SC.

I modified it myself.

Yes, the airbox mod for the SS/TC is different.

There is a how to on the site for it.

Yeah that ebay thing fucked with my MAF readings making the throttle response feel weird at all times. Plus it rubbed like three holes in itself. J U N K

never buy cheap ebay performance parts for these cars. try to return that trash intake asap and find her something else around 60 bucks, u can get her an k&N filter and do the airbox mod for her for under 60 and it will flow better then most intakes anyways. They is a how to section that you can find a write up for doing the airbox mod.

AGREEED X10! return it and find a used CAI aftermarket brand.. injen, aem, fuji, K&N, something normal unless ur friend is plannin on modding her car, if you just want a nice intake for the car shoot for the regular size 3" isnt necessary unless you're gonna mod the car for high HP.... look throught the classifieds on here and you might be able to find one, i did a year and a half ago, and it still works like a champ, make sure you have a full piece or at least silicone to attatch the intake to the Throttle Body..

Haha, thanks man

I wanted to use the factory replacement K&N E-0777 drop in, and needed to come up with a nice way to make sure it was secure.
