Cometic or SCE headgasket?

Anybody have experience with either one?

The SCE is copper and not really designed for regular street use and is about $100 more expensive than the MLS Cometic one. I just want to be sure the car seals up without a problem.

With the copper you will have to have someone cut grooves in the sleeves for the stainless rings to insert into. You need stainless rings for the copper head gasket.
If you plan on pulling the engine, Copper is a good way to go.
If you just want to replace the head gasket with a stronger than OEM, get the MLS by Cometic.
If you have questions feel free to PM us.

My friend was having trouble with head gaskets in his high hp(880 rwhp) turbocharged 331 . He switched to Cometics with alot of sucess . Pretty much all the local un-naturally aspirated cars have made the switch to cometic .

I think I'm going to go with the Cometic one. Are the head studs are different for the L61 and the LSJ? The guy at the dealership yesterday said they were different. Twincharged has Golden Eagle ones, but the only ones on the Golden Eagle Mfg. site are for the 2.2. I hate ordering parts when I'm confused what will and will not fit!

Turbotech, SCE does make a Titan Copper headgasket that does not require the O-rings and machining of the block. I talked to them yesterday, and the guy threw a bunch of options at me which led me to do some more research and planning needless to say.

The head bolts from the factory carry the same part # between the 2.2 and 2.0 . you can call verify yourself .

ARP head stud kit # 231-4701 is for the ecotec .
