After thinking about the cams, i believe there will be no gain for the 2.0 s/c, I am thinking if they were designed for the 2.0 s/c they would have put the supercharged part in there also. so there for what i am thinking it is for the 2.2 ecotec. the stage 1-3 are for n/a cars, and the supercharged cams, are possibly the same specs as the 2.0 s/c, and the turbo version are possibly the specs for the saab 2.0 turbo, as in how supercharged and turbo charged cars have different power bands than one another.

^^^Well they don't make a non supercharged/turbo 2.0 do they?????

So why wouldn't it be for the 2.0SC? That's what a blower is......
I might try to e-mail them to find out.......

cams a waste of time unless you got the serious power it needs to handle. No benefit to an otherwise low powered car. I would maybe consider it after running upwards to 300HP on the stock cam.

A cam by itself on a stock motor might not do much BUT.........

Put the same cam on a car with intake, exhaust, smaller pulley, upgraded ECU and fuel system and you'll get the benefits of changing it out.

The RL's and Cobalts will be running 300 ponies pretty quick here. The aftermarket is starting to take off!!!

no, thats why i think they did a typo. really can't judge anything, the info givin is not really clear on anything. possibly a month or two down the line it will be more clear on what each cam is for.

Here is the response I just got back from Comp Cams.

"The best cam for a blown motor, with good rpm potential would be part# 113250.
The price is roughly $480.00"

Robin Poole, rpoole@compcams.com

I know it's not very much info, but I specifically mentioned that I had a Cobalt SS/SC with the Ecotec 2.0L Supercharged motor.

good rpm potential?? possibly meaning high rpm power band 7k+rpm if thats the case then there will be little to no real gain w/ those cams if thats what he means by rpm potential.

A cam only upgrade will see many gains to a stock motor although the benefits are better realized accompanied by intake, exhaust and possibly a head. The general rule of thumb has always been that boosted cars either S/C or turboed didn't rely on heads and cam to make power; just turn up the boost. This is true but consider this....your S/C ability to generate more power is dictated by a percentage of the power the car already makes. So your 160HP 2.0 sees 210 hp with low boost creating 50% more power of the motor n/a (naturally aspirated). Stab a cam, intake and exhaust on your motor N/A and you'll get probably 180 if you're really lucky. Now add 50% of that from the S/C at low boost and you get...ready for this; 270HP. The math doesn't lie on S/C cars, I've played with enough of them to know. If you do start dabbling in these figures make sure you can reprogram the car's timing and fuel tables along with the rev limiter.
So basically I'm saying don't think of this car in a low n/a sense as some of you have stated with your cam swap apprehentions. Realize that the S/C will up the gains by a good percentage from what you might normally be familar with. Oh and before the internet e-tech gurus try and jump my ****, everyone be aware that your motor and s/c have efficiency limitations so be realistic about how fast you want to go so you can build accordingly.
