Cooling Mods

I am planning on going to a 2.5" pulley and wondering what are the most effective cooling modifications? Heat Exchanger? Water/Meth? BOTH? Thanks guys.

In this order:
Water/meth injection
2cnd heat exchanger (not a bigger one, but a second one to use along with the stock one)
Dual pass plate w/reservoir

Idealy, yes, all of them. But, do what your cash flow will allow, preferrably in the order I put.

If I did it all Over again, I would have done the dual Pass Endplate Option B first>> Then the 2nd Heatexchanger! I'm Currently running the dual Pass Endplate, Dual Pass Heat Exchanger with the stock 1 & the GM Option B Reservoir! She runs cool as a cucumber!

How often do you have to refill the bottle in the water/meth kit? I think im gonna get that first and then buy the H/E when I buy the 2.5.

It just depends on how high you have it turned on. I top mine off like once a week, and it doesn't take much.

You can just use window washer fluid for the mixture, nothing special. I'm not sure how much a "custom" mixture would cost though.

I was running water/meth in my Cavalier with the M45 blower (which was not intercooled) and the best results I found for both cooling and being able to increase timing without getting knock was a 60/40 Methanol/Water mixture. If any of you guys are running meth it can be bought very cheaply in the form of "Heet" which is a yellow bottle of drygas sold at any auto parts store or even Wal-Mart. This stuff is about 98% methanol.

Cry02 Cooling System

Don't forget about the Cry02 cooling system.

Install a bulb in your intake and or spray your H/E.

you heard right, windshield washer fluid is actually about a 50/50 mix of denatured alky and water so it's a very viable option for Alky kits. Many use this with great success, plus it's cheap and very abundant.

I have been woundering if anyone out there has or makes a FMIC for the ss/sc, i would think that would be another viable altnerative to adding another heat exchanger and meth injection. OFcourse i have no idea how meth injection works and were in the heck id purchase more of it when i ran out hehe.
