COT removed on stage 3?

Has anybody confirmed that the rear O2 sensor or COT has really been removed from the stage 3 pcm?

I went to get a relearn done yesterday and they said I was still throwing an O2 code?.

It says that the stage 3 PCM is not emissions compliant. I was wondering if anyone had gone through and passed with the stage 3 PCM. If it does dissable the second o2 sensor , wouldn't that make it fail?

I doubt it would pass anyway... I heard stage 2 barely does as it is.

if you delete the rear o2 sensor why would it fail your getting rid of the code thats would otherwise get tripped..if you have no cat you can't take it to the dealer...but anywhere else you will be fine...but i don't know if it disables the o2 sensor..if thats all you need just buy a spacer.

just as long as you don't have a check engine light you should be fine

But the OP's question is does the S3 disable the COT (catalytic over temp) system. Designed to protect the cats when you go WOT and the cat temp reaches a certain point. Good question. If you still have a cat even a high flow you still want the COT working. Or you run the risk of burning up the cat. Run a catless DP and turn it off with HPT. If its even part of the S3.

Thats the thing - I was under the impression from MANY posts that COT was removed, but a catless downpipe and a CEL light later I think I may have wasted my money. If its throwing the O2 code then is COT still part of the stage 3 pcm? I can live with a cel, I'll just keep trying to clear it, but I can't live with power reduction...

wait...you got a case relearn on a stage 3 pcm..??
you're having issues with the stage 3 from GM sending you into limp mode also..??
I hate to say this, but hptuners hasn't read the pcm so the parameters aren't known....so GM is your only alternative and I don't know what type of help your dealership can provide.

I don't think it's removed but it's possible. They state stage 3 pcm is for "off road use only" but I thought that would be related to the nitrous programming rather than deleting the o2 sensor. You can't pass inspection with a stage 3 pcm (I guarantee it) because the pcm has no vin and you can't write one on it with hptuners. No vin=you won't pass.

Well this is interesting. Cause if your throwing a cel and code for the rear O2's then there is nothing Off Road only about that ecm. And its obvius that GM hasnt disabled the rear O2 and related codes. SO to deleate the rear O2 yes HPT. I was under the impression the HPT can also disable the COT (catalytic over temp). If the ecm is a Can Bus system it should beable to. Does it in the 05/06 GTO and it is a Can Bus. Next month I plan on hooking my buddys HPT up to my Balt and do some tweeking of some of the things that can be turned off.

Yes I did get a case relearn done on the stage 3 pcm - I was throwing a code for it in fact

No its not throwing me into limp mode but if COT isn't removed then doesn't it reduce power (very little) to protect the cat? I cannot notice a difference in power but I've had the stage 2 computer in before this one and of course COT is not removed from it...

cot doesnt reduce power. what it does is adds to the PE table to richen the AFR. richer afr will prevent the cat from melting.

You should check the pcm with hptuners to make sure you can't delete the dtcs...these stage 3 pcms should be locked as far as I know (meaning you can't). If there's someone around you with it you should have him check.

i garantee you 100% it is REMOVED (no cot) i ran stage 3 with no cat for about 5-6 mon never once got a p0420 never once got any cel's car ran quite well actually compared to stage 2... i cant think of any reason why you would be throwing a code... by the way what code are you getting?
