Crank Pulley

does any know that size the crank pulley is, I'm trying to figure out how small of a supercharger pulley I can go with, once I boost my Rev limiter to 7500RPM.

I don't want to over stress the supercharger

Can't help you on the crank pulley, but I can tell you that at 7500 rpm, a 2.8" s/c pulley will be turning the s/c at about 16100rpm.

I don't know the size but just ask Mev. I have a feeling there is one laying around his shop somewhere.
Has Mev made the tool for doing your valve springs yet?

I'm basing it off of Badmunky's data showing a 2.9 @ 14500rpm and a 2.7 @ 15555 rpm when the engine is spinning at 7000rpm. I just did the math to find out the rest.

oh yah I forgot to post for you, he's got the valve head off, I'm assuming he's going to start work on it this weekend.
when I was there he already had one of the cylinders out.

good idea about asking Mev, totally forgot about your engine sitting there.

buy the way he just got the laser cut flanges for his header, and we where looking at it on your engine.
it fits beautifully.

as for the tool, the one he has is only good to work with when the valve train is out of the car, he's still making one so he can change the valve springs with the engine in car.

how does he know those numbers?

16100RPM is already pushing the limits of the charger damn

You'd have to ask him, sorry. I don't think he mentions it in the thread that was in...it was a while back while discussing the s/c redline. So technically, my data is only as reliable as his.

Yeah, 16000 is redline, so that's why I mentioned the 2.8. That's probably the smallest you want to use for laps...if you're at the 1/4, a tenth or 2 smaller wouldn't kill the s/c, as it would redline for such a short time, but whether it would be efficient that high is another story.

The smallest you can go is 2.5", not because of supercharger rpm but because anything smaller will cause belt slipage.

7500 rpm + 2.5" pulley would be like ~18,000 rpm right?
