Crazy iat2's

So for the past while my iat2's are acting extremely funny. Im thinking the sensor is messed up because my iat2's will be at 50 and then will jump to 190ish then back to 50 then to 200 then back to like 50 and so on. It will jump around but it only stays on the high temperatures for like a second or so. This is then causing my short term b1 to jump to -65ish. Not sure if it matters but the car has a dual pass and option b.

Before I replace the sensor I just want to make sure that's the problem and if there's anything else that might be causing the fucked up readings.

If it is the sensor where is it located and what is the part number.

easy to test, put your scan tool on it and wiggle the wires, if its the wiring the temp will jump all around when your moving the wires. if nothing when you move the wires the backprobe at the connecter to the tmap and tap on the sensor with a wrench, if its got something loose inside the temp reading will jump around as you tap on it. the tmap isnt very expensive, so dont worry either way.

Check your interceptor data rate. If your running dual interceptors and set the data rates too fast, or depending on what other paramaters you have selected can cause data errors. I"ve seen my IAT2 data do that when watching IAT2 on one gauge, and LTFT on the other with STFT and some other paramater. Even if you have single, try changeing the non IAT2 paramater (Interceptor always shows 2 displays) to watch some other paramater like RPM or something. Some combinations of information cause conflicts at intermitent times.
