cti owners help

alright well ive put my cti header and downpipe on and was impressed with the gains but there is one little thing

there is a noise like a ticking noise coming from somewhere around there

i thought it was the heat shield that i put back on but i checked it this morning and its not

anyone else having this problem or have any suggestions???

otherwise im taking it to a muffler place and having them look at it

sounds like an exhaust leak. mine did it. i ran throught some cycles letting it get nice and hot. prolly 100-120 miles. then re-tightened everything and nothing since.

thats the best way to do it. Locking washers help too.

well i noticed after driving 20 miles today the ticking stopped???

so u guys are saying tighten up the bolts again after a 100 or so miles???

^^Bingo,

heat cause metal to expand, so like they were saying, put it through a few heat up and cool down cycles, and things should stabilize, then just re-tighten everything.

That noise (random pinging) occurs commonly after you shut down when your exhaust is cooling down, and fighting its clamps, etc.
