custom exhaust

so since my cat is clogged i need a new exhaust fast...my frined knows how to weld and has done a couple of exhaust already..he wants to do mine with mandrel bent piping from summit and a magnaflow muffler. he has had boosted cars and strongley insist i go 3" in...iv read the post on here that 2.5 is fine...im going 2.7 on 60's..but my question is * is a custom exhaust going to give less performance then a bolt on and how will it sound..* i dont want to go this rought if it will sound like crap or lose performance..ohh yah and im buying a dp with a cat from zzp.....please imput from those who heard a custom vs bolt on..

you don't need 3". 2.5" will be plenty, especially mandrel bent. it's a s/c not a turbo.

yah iv decided on the 2.5 its just im not sure if i would be happy with the custom exhaust or not...seams the cheapest decent bolt on is 499 for magnaflow...maybe i should just pay the extra 300 bucks for bolt on

im rally mad the megan exhaust is on back order..i would for sure buy that...

the megan is a good piece. i ran a custom megan setup on my 350Z, but their pre-made stuff is fairly nice from what i've seen; my friend's shop sells a decent amount of their product so i've been able to see quite a few of their exhausts, as well as other products. i would definitely buy the megan cat back if i was keeping my car, if that helps.

I've seen and heard the megan catback on my buddies SS/SC, and it sounds just fine. I sort of wish I hadn't spent all the damn money on my Corsa now since I've had to reweld it anyhow!
