Custom exhaust idea

Well my buddy is able to make me a 3" exhaust and I made a drawing of how he wants to do it. I was wondering if you guys think it will flow better for me or would it be better to follow the stock bends.

At the rear axle part it's going to go under and not over top like all the exhausts made for our cars. Just wondering if this would be better or to follow the stock design/ It will be something close to the drawing.

Thats what i was saying. That's why i'd rather just buy an exhaust I told him. Even if we follow the stock design I still have to find a nice muffler

What if your car gets on the lift? When the suspension drops hows that going to work?

You should be able to find some bends to go over the axle if you still want to make your own. Summit racing has pretty cheap bends in mild steel, stainless, etc. And you can get crushed or mandrel from them

as for the op, under axle exhausts are nice if you ever have to take it off. but your gonna hit it all the time. why not just dump it out under the car? thats what im doin right now...

wont work unless you relocate thatblack box that sits directly ontop of the rear torsion beam...dontk now what the name of the box it,but it would be in the of your exhaust idea, not the mention the spare tire well is in the way too

wow.

.theres someone on here that did this it's like onecoldizzle or something he has a car of the month thread this month if i remember his is 3" and goes from the exhaust tunnel at a diagonal to the tip cutout under the axle

under axle and straight back will have better flow then the stock exhaust you're taking out like 2 ft of piping or so and there would be no 90* bends..

Well i know that box my drawing was something close we were thinking about doing a S bend right before the axle and bring it right out were it's supposed to go.

i have plans for side exit but im currently runnin open downpipe. what im sayin is tuck a muff up under there and just stop it before the rear axle. i still may do it that way. but i just like the idea of puking flames at the ppl i pass... now when i shoot flames they just hit the street and spread out under the car. it looks crazy

keep it to the guys that did all the testing. If it flowed better under the axle im sure a company wouldve already done it...

why would you think they really did testing? they use factory style setup.. it's not the fastest/ most efficient way to expel exhaust gases

probably would flow better, but your going to have a bent pipe or a exhaust leak once you go over a huge pot hole. Just get the piping cut do mandrel bend
