Custom Injen Intake

I made my own cold air by using an injen intake that had the fitment issue. I bought the pipe from someone who had received the revised pipe from injen. I paid $50 for the pipe. I had a 3 inch cone filter from vibrant, and I bought a 3 inch coupler and a 60 degree elbow from performance improvements. The parts are from spectre and cost $30.

Total cost $80

First I cut the intake at the end where the MAF sensor is. I left about one inch of pipe after the MAF sensor. Next i connected the 60 degree elbow to the intake and used electrical tape to ensure a air tight seal and reinforce the connection. The elbow has a clamp and o-ring but I wanted to be 100% sure. I am sure someone will say this is ghetto, but for less than $100, i can deal with that. I put everything together and tightened the clamps.

Here is the elbow connector

An idea of how close I cut the pipe

And here is how it looks installed

I am very happy with this install. THERE ARE NO FITMENT ISSUES, it does touch the bumper, but doesn't push on it. It also does not press on the inner fender. In my opinion it looks and sounds great. I have all of the performance gains at a third of the price. Just another option for us

doesnt look good, you are going to have problems with that metal lip where the intake tubing goes down towards the bumper... it will rub and cut right through your intake... you should keep an eye on it.

take the electrical tape off and put some rubber around the tube then put the elbow over it. Other than that I have no complaints.
