darn...

Went to go my 2.85" and HE install today with Tony (Aga342) and couldnt get the pulley off with out the pulley puller and taking the SC off which was toooo much work lol.

So we put the 42s on and the sparks and we just loaded up the stage 2 tune for now and then adjusted my redline and boost in 1st and 2nd gear.

Now i just gotta figure out where im gonna go to get the damn pulley put on lol.

Thats all

Sorry to hear that you had trouble with getting the pulley off mate. I wish ya the best of luck with the 2.85.

Just to double check, you are upgrading to 60lbers with the 2.85 pulley correct?

i know the SC is easy to take off...we also just had stupid pullers from autozone that weren't going to really do the trick.

+1 he never stated if he was putting the 42lbers back on, or if he was planning to use 42lbers with that 2.85 pulley.

let us know. You NEED 60lbers for that 2.85 pulley mate.

HAHAH your a joke guy. 2.85 on 42lbers at 7k rpms will have his idc's over 100% if not static. This is great. You might want to take a look at some hptuner logs before you start talking your talk.

He is making power from the colder air from all the cooling mods just so you are aware. For example, do a pull with a 160iat2 and then do a pull with a 100degree iat2, which do you think will be quicker?

no he is not making the power he would that a car with a pulley and cooling mods would make. But he can beat a hell of a lot of cars with JUST his cooling mods because he is not getting heat soaked. Look at his 1/4mile times and compare them to others.

ok maybe he has a hell of a driver mod, but maybe that is what most people need to invest in before more power?

if your not going with 60lbers thats fine. I hope you have one hell of a tune. Watch your injectors and tell me that at 7k rpms you are not over 100% idc.

cblt12 - I agree completely. There are many people out there who do not know how to drive properly, especially when it comes to a manual car. People neutral coasting to save gas - idiots.

In my opinion if people are going to stay with the supercharger is that they need to get all the cooling mods, and then upgrade for power. Otherwise you will be getting heat soaked like no other.

it doesnt matter how long you are at your redline. The point is that it is not good for injectors to be running above 100%. I guarentee that his idc's will be over 100% at 7k rpms.

If this was a stage 2 tune, it would be completely different. Hell 2.9s on a stage 2 aren't all that safe.

I am not going to argue with you because there are to many factors. Elevation, temps, cooling mods, etc. A lot of things are opinions on this site, some are facts. Its a fact that injectors don't like to be static and don't like to be pushed apast there limits. So watch out for that. Its also a fact that cooling mods help THESE cars out immensely.

with all of that being said i wish the best of luck to you mate.

idc's near redline should be high 90's wit a 2.85..cuz its not even over 100 with a 2.8 (i believe)

04redline and i are at sea level...both have 2.9's on stage 2 tunes and have IDC's of 93% and we are running just fine. btw higher elevation is easier to get away with a smaller pulley too.
