A Debate

I've been itching for more from my car and I'll probably do something within the next few months. I will be installing these myself, so labor is not included. I'd like to keep it around $400.

Option 1
Ingalls ETD: ~$160
Airbox mod w/AEM Dryflow: ~$40
Tune: $150-$200

total (w/o shipping) $350-$400

Option 2
Lucas 42.5 Injectors: ~$160
Injector harness: ~$50
Airbox mod w/AEM Dryflow: ~$40
Tune: $150-$200

total (w/o shipping) $400-$450

Option 3
GM Stage 1 Upgrade: $426 (through CobaltPP.com)

Which would you go with? Also, which vendor sells the best PCM's? I'd like to ask Rob to tune it if he still has his software. I trust him.

I may try to find a few of these parts used.

I would do option 2 but with a smaller pulley. If you look around, you may find other members selling their stuff that you want. Check the classified section for about a month and you should see most of it... except for the tune.

Stage 2 is weak unless you go w/ a smaller pully... but as far as a pully change, Stg2 is warrentied so i wouldnt worry to much...

I may just do that. I can use my GM discount on top of that and have it installed at my shop.

We have a weiner!

I chose option 1. BUT I wouldn't go any of those routes. I spent 212 dollars on my mods and I am faster than a stage 2 cobalt with bolt ons. Your first mod should be cooling mods. You really wouldn't believe how much you gain from making the intake temps cooler. I gained 5mph just from installing my cobra heat exchanger. Also get a hp tuners tune and raise that rev limit up. Trust me, you'll haul ass for still being on a stock motor.

The reason that the rev limit isn't @ 7k from the factory isn't because of the motor. It's because the injectors can't handle the 7k.

yea well my car runs great all the way to 7500. and it pulls on a whole lot of cars that you would think a stock ss shouldn't pull.
