Disabling O2 sensor/Spark anti fouler trick explained?

I just bought the zzp catless dp and want to get rid of the cel I'm going to get. If I want to disable it through hptuners, do I have to tune the entire PCM, or can I disable it and stay with stock tune.

Also, can someone explain these o2 sims? Ive yet to find anything and pepboys didnt have a clue.

Finally, the spark anti fouler trick? Does it work? What setup is required and what I dont have an 02 bung?

I would also like to know how to get rid of the CEL. I really don't want to get into tuning until my warranty is up and I go really big with the car. I just got a 3 inch custom exhaust, with the cat delete so I have the same CEL. I am not sure where to find the thing for the o2 sensor, but if anyone has a link it would be greatly appreciated.

the spark anti fouler trick all it really does is move the o2 sensor out of the direct line of exhaust comming out so theres less fuel and whatever hitting the o2 so it seems to be normal

Do you know how to get rid of the CEL because of a cat delete without hptuners? I was told there was a part you could buy that would take the CEL away. I really don't want to disconnect my battery every day haha.

then the only way is through hp tuners...or go to the muffler shop and have them weld a o2 bung in so you can do the fouler

You dont need to tune the PCM to delete the code. Find some one with your year cobalt unlocked on their HP tuner and they should be able to delete the code in 10 min or so.

just tune it.. youll get some more proformance out of it.. cant hurt.. gm isnt gonna go and look up to see if you have a better tune.. your rich from the dealer and you can also limit boost in 1st gear which will help at the 1/4 mile

I did the antifouler thing and its quite simple and it worked like a charm. Get a pack of 2 18mmm anitfoulers. Drill them out with a 1/2" drill bit. Your prolly gonna haveto beat on the heat sheilding underneath to get it to fit. Screw both of them in and screw the O2 sensor in. I have a highflow cat so i don't know what will happen since ur runnin catless, but it worked for me. No more CEL for at least 400 miles now.

humm I see. It would probably be a different situation with no cat since you're running a high flow. I'd hate to drill a hole in my new DP though.

no no no .. your not drilling a hole in ur downpipe . You have to drill out the antifoulers so that the o2 sensor will fit inside of them. But you do need an o2 bung.

i'm working on two types of solutions i'm trying the second out tonight, my anti fouler worked with some modification to the heat sheild, with this, no modification is needed. i will post tomorrow if it has worked

i have pretty much found that pulling the o2 out of the exhaust stream at least .1406 or 7/64 will eliminate the light.

The HP tuners method seems to be the easier way.

sure if you dont feel like pulling out the o2 sensor, sliping something over the threads and screwing it back in. 5 minutes of work, 7 bucks spent....

oooor on the other hand, Find somone to do it for you (100 Bucks).. drive to them, trust they dont do anything else, or hell you could spend 700 dollars and buy a lap top.

drill holes? lol no you dont have to

just as simple as pulling the rear 02 out, putting the peice i send you on it, than screwing it back in. do drilling, only tool needed would be an openended wrench
