Do I have Stage 1 or do i not?

Hey guys had my ss/sc for about a month now and went and got it dynoed today. I order it with cat back exhaust and the stage 1 kit. When i ordered the car they told me that the car would put out around 235 horsepower. When i got it dynoed today it only put out 204. I am very concered about this as i payed for the stage 1 kit and am not getting the preformance gains that i should be. I know i got the cat back but can't tell if i have the stage 1. Any advice on how i can tell if i have stage 1.

Any advice on what i should do

Thanks alot

does your car redline at 7000 rpms? look under the fuel rail cover (the black piece that says ecotec "supercharged". are your injectors black or green?

Well for one thing all dynos are not gunna be the same and secondly you probably at 235 crank hp and your 204 is your wheel hp but more then likey you do have stage 1 installed one way to find out take out one of your injectors and if its green then your stock if its not then you are stage 1

Well stock the ss/sc at the wheels is from anywhere 180-200 hp it really depends on the dyno but to your question yeah you should be at 240-245 crank hp with exhaust but the stock injectors are green and the stage 1 are all black i think

Real quick question about the dyno. Was it on a Mustang Dyno or a Dyno Jet??

Those are very low numbers considering some stock cars have dynoed 215whp+ stock.

ummm killer bee.. stock ss/scs have been all from about 190-220 WHP ..

stage 1 should push you at 230 or so WHP... if you can find someone with HP tuner you can see if they actually did the stage 1 flash... if they didn't then you wouldn't really experience much gains.. also what gear did you do the dyno pull in? what was the temp there? humidity? alot of things can effect your dyno...

Yeah, 204 sounds very stock, I did 217 bone stock, 221 with GMPP exhaust, in hot florida weather. That was on a DynoJet though, not a mustang.

another.

check your redline, if you max out at 7k rpm, then you have stg1, if you have blue bolts on your pulley, you have stg 2. if you still have 6.5k rpm, you are probably stock.

hey guys thanks for all the advice.....the dyno i ran my car on was at TAG RaceCraft and it was a DynoJet. I think the 204 horsepower is to the wheels and isn't crank horsepower. i can i check my redine... just run the car?

wow.. either they need to recalibrate their dyno or I don't know... i didn't see if you mentioned what gear you did the dyno pull in.. that would make all the difference. if you are driving "spirited" and are able to rev to 7K and not hit the rev limiter (which you will know if you hit) then you technically have stage 1.. however something is really out of wack if you do have stage 1 and are only putting down those numbers

actually post up your dyno... that maybe able to help us a bit

push your foot to the floor. if it revs to 7k, you have stage 1... 6,500 rpm is stock.

I don think they are going to dyno him in 5th gear. If it were in third, it would be wayy higher then that. If not theres something wrong.

To OP: get your car warmed up, get into 2nd gear and put your foot to the floor. If you hit your rev limiter at 6500rpms then your still stock. Just make sure you obay the speed limit =P

well you could be dyno'd in 4th which has a .89 ratio instead of 3rds 1.18 ? or so... so it would explain a bit... either way there's something off here

exactly why I was asking... not that that should produce SUCH low numbers but that is a reason for it being lowER
