Aftermarket Parts can't void your warranty unless the dealer can prove that the aftermarket part caused the problem.
wrong

What GM says on their warranty about installing aftermarket parts?

The company is only limited to clearly defining the terms of a warranty. They may require that thier parts are used as a replacement if they are provided free of charge. If you need a new HE it will be provided free of charge. A company may also specifically state in the warranty that such action would void the warranty and it would be legal, since the law only mandates full disclosure.
The parts being replaced under this law are standard parts, so additions that alter the performance of the car are not covered by this law. It is even specified that the use of standard parts may be required if they are needed for designed/proper function to be maintained. You are blocking air flow, which certainly affects designed function to any other part claimed under warranty.

A few more things to keep in mind section 2310: Past rulings may be used as evidence. So, if someone else did have a ruling made for similar cause you would have a case; however, it is specifically noted that this law protect consumers from "any warrantor from making a deceptive warranty with respect to a consumer product." Nothing about your warranty is deceptive.
unless your install caused a leak and you lost all the fluid in the intercooler and got extremly high charge temps, causing detonation breaking a pistos, it cant do damage. however, gm will look at it as you modified your vehicle so you must be racing it, warrenty void.
Do it..hell at my dealership I get them to install sometimes my aftermarket parts..they do nt' give a flip...though I have a very nice dealership...they helped me installer my smaller pulley when I first put it on. The main guy at the dealership and I are going to work on putting my cobra heat exchanger on soon.
modding regardless of what it is that you do has the potential of voiding certain parts of your warrenty but most of the problems ive heard of people having are when the excessivly beat the crap out of their cars. like someone had mentioned previously, GM must prove that that part had something to do with the part that is broken. If you are caught racing though, which has happened to several people here, GM will black flag your warrenty indefinately and nothing will be covered.
the fact of the matter is...if you are worried about warrenty and paying for a repair, then dont mod because all aftermarket parts unless GMPP parts are not covered or accepted by GM as a GM authorized part. But also 99% of the aftermarket parts out there if installed correctly usually dont have issues unless its a faulty part which applies to pretty much anything that you buy now a days. there is always that chance.
plus most aftermarket stuff is reversible...you can just take it off before you go to the dealership and return the car to stock and then lie lie lie.... lol

What D4 said is the best advice I've heard regarding warranties and that's if you care about yours don't mod.
i say the only way it could or should void your warranty is if you don't properly install the heat exchanger and it leaks out all of the coolant resulting in overheating from your extreme IAT2 temps and you burn up a piston or blow a head gasket or something.
But, with that said, i've had a dealer void my warranty just because i didn't have a catalytic converter, so they charged me $80 to fix a loose fuel injector relay.
