doing a case learn

couple of questions on doing a case learn after getting a new pcm:

if i have the pcm currently in my car is programmed for a stage kit do i need to do a case learn?

on average if i were to go to a dealership, how much does a case learn usually cost?

if it takes me a few days to get my car to anyplace that could do a relearn, would it be ok to do some light driving on the new pcm?

thanks

If the pcm isnt the original one u need to get it done asap.
My dealer did the case relearn for free.
And no you shouldnt drive ur car much untill u get that done. Im pretty sure its for the crank case sensor and it might mess something up but im not positive on that i had mine done like 2 years ago.

can you even run your car without a case learn? I tried installing a different PCM and i thought i could just do a case learn with hptuners, but i wasn't able to even read it and my car wouldn't start.

Just unhook your battery while you swap pcms then hook it back up and you are good to go

my DashHawk has the option to do so. SS/SC guys don't have the option to use them though. But I'm wondering has anyone tried hooking a DashHawk to an SS/SC.

My dad's truck is not on their list but it works even better in his truck than it does my cobalt

Okay, so what if you've installed the new pcm got the case relearn done....2 years later you do some major maintenance and leave the battery unhooked for a while...you get your car all back together and u start getting the cam position sensor codes etc. later on that day...Go get another case relearn or what?
