Downpipes

Do they all cause the car to fail emmissions? Becouse I got a catted one, and it failed.
So I took it off, and put the stock one back on, and it passed.

Just wondering.

Thats why you should just go catless and swap it out every time emissions testing rolls around.
Because theres a 80% chance your gonna fail emissions even with a hi-flow cat.

Maybe going catless and welding in a good cat will prevent you from having to swap everytime.

Its like a one hour job to swap it yourself, or 26$ (here) to get it swapped once a year.

Why not go catless?

California laws suck! We have to pass emissions, tint laws are strict, and CHPs have tried giving me tickets for having my car too low!(and my car is at stock height!) Talk about BS

Illinois isn't bad really. I've never had any problems, (no emissions or inspections where I live). I need to look at more catless setups, I would not mind it if they didn't sound so bad. I've got a Clear Image 2.5" cat-back in my room, waiting to see the ZZP longtube.

It might, if they use the sniffer method. If they just plug it into your OBD II port you can just remove the CEL and they will never know the difference. And by remove the CEL I mean tune it out with HPT.
