Drop in filter, pictures? Help?

Hello I am interested in doing the drop in filter mod for the winter, and when the summer is back to possibly do a CAI and the GM upgrades. I was currious to how easily this can be done, and if someone has a walk through or pictures of the install?

Also does it give the SS more wine w/ the supercharger?

It's just a bit easier than doing the CAI from K&N, there isn't any difference in sounds.

You have to pull off the wheel and the fender shroud to do either the drop in or the CAI.

K&N has released their direct replacement drop-in filter... no more need for modding.

It looks good!! Taking the inside fender cover thing off isn't a bid deal. Took me about 30 minutes to do the second time when i replaced my high flow filter.

It took me amonth to get a Cel the first time i did the airbox mod. I put the stock filter back in and it went away after five minutes. I've just recently put the High flow one back in after a recent reflash and oil change and not CEL's yet. I also have a code reader now so i can see what it is and clear it next time.

I know most stock air filters are rectagle things. Do they make a K&N rectangle thing that is as simple as opening the air box and replacing the paper one with a K&N one? If so do you get more wine? More HP? CEL?

sorry for all the Questions.

Yes... But no cel and no more whine...

The airbox is under the wheel well. The inside of the fender must come off to install. I assure its very very easy.

Ohh and our filters (the ss) are cylinders.

You'll prob get more whine just not near as much as you would be puting a high flow one on and taking the bottom off. The stock filter stops alot of the whine. I put the high flow filter on once and left the bottom on and you could hear it more than stock

IM gonna think about doing it, Chris you better help me.

I ordered my magnaflow today from Modernperfomance. Said will ship out today via Fedex ground, shipping from TX to DE should be here by end of week!

I will have it put on as soon as I get it!

it was 481 w/ shipping, best price Ive seen. Everywhere else asks for like 600+

Also he said there where only 2 instock as of my order, so that means they have 1 left if anyones interested!
