Drop in k&n VS full intake replacement

Hello I just got my cobalt yesterday and I am looking to make that supercharger whine a lot louder. Performance wise, how much of a difference would there be in a full intake replacement vs a drop in k&n filter? Has anyone tried to compare these on the dyno?

You might get 1-2 hp from a filter swap. The K&N flows 10 times better than the stocker, but most of the intake restriction comes from the tubing itself. You'll have to do a search and see if anyone with the "airbox mod" got dynoed.

The K&N intake is dynoed at a gain of about 8hp at the wheels.

Just some food for thought.

Does anyone know why the KN CAI is rated at 14hp for the RL? It's bassically the same (with VERY minor differances in the mends)

EDIT: Now that I think of it, our stock airboxes may be more of restriction than yours, netting us more gains from the swap.
