dyno numbers, quite disappointed
this has been done to death most the highest hp tvs guys are running 2.5", having 3" on a tvs will not hurt it but its also not needed, having a 3" on a m62 will hurt its performance tho.
css ftw
i lik the way the car feels with the full 3" it feels like its alot happier with more breathing room...i believe sc cars need more room to breathe but thats jus my opinion im not an expert on them nor will i ever claim to be i jus go off how the car feels and drives
with ur mods the gain or loss of the hp would be so small it wouldnt matter, this is mainly about guys that toss on 3" catbacks on the m62 that take a hit in the performance department.
i didnt throw the exhaust on when i had all these mods lol i did it with jus a tvs but yes ik m62's dont need an exhaust really period in my eyes...i remember a couple ppl actually ran smaller than stock i believe..thers a thread around here sumwher from awhile back tlkn bout it
It's easy. SC is a bit different from tc.
On a sc the smaller exhaust keeps exhaust gas velocity up to increase scavenging and allow better cylinder filling. Very important for part throttle performance. On a tc you want to minimize restriction as much as possible to decrease spoolup time.
At the top end restriction starts to become more important and is where larger exhausts come into their own.
For a sc the 3" "may" give you a little more at the very top depending on what pulley size you are running but the gains are minimal over a 2.5" on the m62. Once you are pushing more air through the engine with either a TVS or with a turbo you will start seeing larger gains as the 2.5" starts causing a restriction.
Don't just look at at the peak HP also look at what's under the curve and it becomes obvious that a 2.5 is the way to go on a m62 and a 3" on the TVS with a smaller pulley or a lnf.
If any of this doesn't make sense I blame typing on my iPod

I don't see why ZZP who tunes and works with our platform would have a miscalculated dyno. This was when I had a bad IC pump, and my IAT2s were 150

Sorry don't know why pics are upside down.

On a side not I looked at ur sig and it says tuned by zzp and u listed 240, if ur car is tuned and has airbox mod then its not ******* stock people need to understand stock means stock, that dont mean airbox mod and tune.
Lmao me and my buddy jerren(domesticrush06) put my stock intake back on, and the first thing i noticed is the car pulls a hell of alot harder than it did with the ebay junk
