Dyno Results!!!!!!

So today me and a friend with a 05 cobalt(jmac) had some tuning and dynoing done.

Lastnight, we spent 7 hours installing all our parts we have been waiting for or tuning to have installed.... including

2.6 zzp pulley, 60lb injectors, casper wire harness, gm belt st2 belt, idler pulley, hp tuners ( with custom tune on dyno) and snow performance water methanol injection.

SO anyways, the main difference in our mods was exhaust, james having a full manifold back 3 " exhaust, while im just running a 2.5 catback, hopeing my long tube comes soon thought.

Anyways, my stock pull on the dyno, with just the k&n intake and cat back, was 220 whp 197 torque.

After about 4 hours of tuning on the dyno with my car, and all mods installed, and working well my final (HOTTTTT) pull in forth gear laid our 294.2 whp and 261.1 ft torque... . The water methanol system added roughly 25 whp, and removed 85-100*F on IMT2, just insane performance. The timing was also obviously rather advanced with the methanol, and i am showing 0 knock across the board, with 294 whp and 261 w torque.

James's cobalt went alot faster then my dyno largely due to much on my tuning directly relating to his, making adjustments much quicker and smoother. Anyways, on his very last, and rather hot pull he laid down 294 whp and 269 w torque, just outragious numbers. ( funny story though, during the pull his brake line was completely melted away by his red hot exhaust pipping lol, so once we were done we had to have it towed to the dealer for an appointment tomorrow morning.)

So anyways, im very impressed, my interceptor is showing 18.4 psi, and our air altitude is 3400 ft, so i think that is a nice amount to be pushing. the car is an ABSOLUTE MONSTER, and is louder then i had thought it would be. Im also very happy to say with these numbers im not going to further modify the car, aside from the long tube header and a newer clutch.

Im going to a friends tomorrow, to put the video we took of me racing a 300 zx tonight on the net, and ill post it when i do for u all to see and hear.

also, for those who are curious, on a mustang dyno the car would have issued 270 whp and 238 torque, the dynojet has been proven to produce number 10-13 % higher the the mustang current dynomometer.

ill post my dyno sheet as soon as possible... so everyone can see my happiness

p.s. my intake 2 temp reading was 121 at its highest.

god damn... those are some impressive numbers I can't wait to dyno mine.. runnin basically the same setup as you,,, just waitin on my exhaust so I can get some runs in... I was definately impressed with the meth injection... prior t me tuning for It I could feel a nice increase in power.... well lets see what it take to break the 300whp on stock motor w/o nitrous... hopefully hit that when I go out on the dyno...

yeah, im sure u guys will .... just spend the extra money on the tune, make sure it someone good, and let him work his magic, my guy is a god with hp tuners, and with all the timing advances, i still see no knock even with the kit off, just insane tuning, but the kit was totally worth it. Im running 70% methanol and 30 water, i would suggest it, the engine loves the mixture for sure. i cant wait for my long tube head to come in, with that, and another 2-3 degrees of timing, i dont think 315 whp is out of the question at all

p.s. tuning on 94, james didnt really get more timing advancements then me on 91, but its all up to u, if u use a good 91 or 92 i would suggest it over the 94 for convience.

p.s. im running my methanol kit at 2.9 start and 4.8 full on, i would also suggest 2 degree colder plugs, and gapping them to .30 or .28 . i also didnt use a ramp rate, the kit has four, but for our frequency range the car doesnt really need one, but if u do use one, the first one is the only one that will work for the amount of methanol our car likes.

about 1200$ on the recently added stuff, and about 1000$ on everything else....so thats what? 2600$??? pretty cheap i think for 300 whp

Where did you order your Vibrant header from? How much timing are you seeing currently? Also, are you spraying pre-blower or post?

why dont you try the zzp belt tensioner with that? along with 93-94 octane pump gas. You may see 300 then, but if u dont then just go in the morning wen its a few degrees cooler and lay it down.

You'd pick up a decent amount of torque by going with a 2.5" pulley.

hey matty, fo the idler, did u have to shave the braket?
i have one from intense just incase my belt slips, and intense says the braket has to be shaved a tad for the bigger pulley to fit snug.
