unless i missed it..

If your timing is low why arent you changing it?

and...

Lets say i used:

premium + meth = ~107 octane
Regular + meth = ~101

Im guessing that you wont be able to advance timing THAT much compared with the 101 to 107... Or just that it wont matter that much on the lsj...

My question is wondering if timing has anything to do with the power gain your speaking up ted? For some reason im thinking that its not..

I am moving up the timing but id perfer to make very small adjustments rather than swing for the fences. I would like to get the AFR closer before making timing adjustments even though timing itself may have some small effect on AFR

But im sure it will be easier to adjust the timing minutely instead of the afr...

your shooting for 11.7 afr right?

Is that considered rich for the tvs?

rich and lean is a couple terms thrown around with no merit behind it.

im running 11.5-11.6 afr and a crap ton of timing.

So really even though the afr "says" your lean... the timing adds fuel anyway?

I dunno what to say other than I myself am really disappointed in the numbers that the TVS made. I'm actually glad that I didn't spend the money for this mod bc to me its a joke.

why are you saying that? Everyone knows of the drawbacks to the lsj layout. There are guys on here that are putting down over 300 to the wheels without much issue. Then there are those that say " just get an import." Some of us are exploring what it takes to get the most out of it. So what if having a tc is easier, some of us just don't care. Supercharged is how some of us want it, out of just being different, some not wanting to be the bandwagon type. And until you've driven a car with one installed and properly tuned, you really don't know.

Out of everyone who has posted about there tvs, 95% has seen over 300hp with a little work...

Now i do agree... that for just a little more than what hte tvs is you can probly make more hp (more in the long run as well).. But thats just not for some people... Supercharging is a hobby for some people and they take it seriously... others would rather have someone put a turbo setup together and be done with it...

Some people make it a personal goal to see how much they can get out of their engine just by using their knowledge... Its kinda like a game to see if they can beat themselves and get more juice out...

Ive been looking into the tvs myself, but also wanting to do the tuning for it myself... But not having the direct knowledge of how these systems work (within hptuners) will probly lose me 10 to 20 hp right there...

To some people the SS still means mechanical power... not tunerific band wagon humpty bump engines...

Like you said, for those of us that have a personal goal, as well as a serious hobby, want to see what it can really provide for the community. If gm really wanted to max out the possible potential of this car from the factory, they would have done more work to the head.

Be that the case, this conversation most likely wouldn't exist. And with the added airflow to the block due to less restriction, everyone would be all over this.

It costs money to make cars better, regardless of what it is, and some spend more than others. When people with ported heads match with the tvs, then we can properly continue with this conversation.

These aren't like 5 second 1000+ HP alcohol motor. Meth, timing, afr aren't going to net you more than 10-15 HP. Unless you engine is running poorly (it's not idling/pulling right). And that 10-15 horse power might cost you reliability.

Well when I bought my car the LNF didnt exist so really I dont feel like taking a 10k hit on negative equity for something you can do nothing with modification wise beyond a tune and intake and exhaust

And if any LNFs locally want a piece I'm here and waiting

hows that 8 degree's of KR treating you?

hmmm?

any ss/t cars want to step up to a 50 punch with a tvs car? come on down. your 300+ ft lbs to the tire isn't allowing you to trap 112+ mph.

one persons dyno numbers mean dick. get over that.

do you have a slip?

Did you use one of those dyno's that come with a "fuel adjuster" dohickey?

Thats the whole point... those #'s probly show mid 13s... If you read... he is holding alot back on the motor... we are trying to discuss how / why you can get power and how much power you can get by being very conservative....

Thanks though. Toodles!

i have a **** ton of slips. im not here to please everyone, so you will have to deal with it.

people are quick to throw punches at someone else when they "think" they are faster.

the whole point of this **** is people are way to number driven. dyno numbers and boost numbers.

period. end of story.
