Hey guys wondering if anyone has the e85 set up on their cobalt supercharged...and if so what do u have... Wondering how it runs does it run a lot hotter?? How much worse is it for the engine?

Hotter? If anything it naturally cools combustion temps due to the alcohol. Let's put it this way.... Once you make the switch to e85, you won't ever want to run 93 again.

 

Will u gain that much hp from it huh??? I don't understand how a hotter burning more octane fuel can burn colder?? What mods would I have to add to run e85?

 

bigger injectors and a tune. Just search it. All of this has been covered multiple times

 

I ave and have yet to see anything on how it runs or how it is for the motor I see u need a tune and bigger injectors but is this all ?

Yeah No one knows anything about E85

 

It runs like any other alcohol based fuel, it requires more of it to burn the same amount of air, but does it at a much cooler temperature allowing for more total timing. You will lose some MPG but you can make a significant amount more power than pump gas alone.

Their may be that many threads on e85 but I haven't seen any answers to my questions?? So alcohol burns colder which means all in all it shouldn't be any worse for my car??? And I have heard I would need to get it tuned and 80lb fuel injectors would that be all I don't have to go through the hoses and fuel pump and what not?

E85 allows for a "no ***** givin" tune. Makes getting your car tuned, safer. That being said, my engine is grenaded but thats neither here nor there

Gm started making there fuel systems ethanol tolerant years ago since most pump gas is E10 now.

 

Gas would do the same thing..had nothing to do with it being e85.

 

E85 is very explosive

 

E85 is actualy harder to burn than gas.

e85 is a cleaner burning fuel and is not bad for your engine at all
you are a 2006 so no need to change fuel pump
