I didn't look at the afc, but they can be a helpful tool for tuning. If it's like the other afc's I've seen they adjust MAF frequency to fool the car into giving more fuel or less. If it's a cheapy one it will only adjust 1 range across the board (+ or - %). Those are pretty much junk. If it can change others for different ltfts then it's the better kind. However you should have something to monitor your ltft's, kr, etc so you aren't hurting anything. I've always tuned for 0 ltft @WOT, that way your car isn't pulling fuel or adding.

not sure how it works on the SS...

i had one on my Grand Prix GTP.... works AMAZING.. even for the novice tuner...

easily locked my LFT's into -5 < +5 at cruise for the best MPG, and my o2s to 940 for the best WOT runs...

its good for fine tuning.. but dont use it as your only tuning device

its the same thing as hp tuners its just WAY WAY WAY WORSE , its a piggy back tuner , this is what intense used before they used hp tuners , in my opinion its a waste of money , its like buying a pentium 2 when the pentium 3's were in full swing

it is not a waste of money.

there are many people out there that do not know how the hell to use hp tuners... this is just just an easy a/f fix.

Now if you are going all out... yes this is a waste of money.

It's pretty much useless, I have used MAF piggy back devices in the past and the PCM doesn't allow you the flexibility to make much use of it.

I would recommend, GM stage1/2 or some vendors stage kit with a PCM reflash. Or if you are really adventurous get HPtuners and the parts for a stage 2 setup..

yeah the mini afc was out before HP tuners was available. Now it's not really the best path, but if you don't have the money for hp tuners or can't get someone to tune your car, it's not the worst idea
