EFI live.... anyone here using it?

Just like the title says, is anyone using EFI live on their balts? I am getting ready to get EFI or HPT. I know there is a TON of knowledge here with HPT but for what I can use it for EFI live would benefit me for tuning the Duramax engines for my friends.

So, would I be better off getting HPT for my balt since guys here can help lead me down the right path or is EFI live similar enough that I can do equal ammounts of tuning. Thanks!

I thought there would be more guys here running EFIlive. I really liked the V2 hand held scanner they have. I searched all through their forum and could not find any info on tuning the LSJ. It is more expensive and will only do 2 cars without buying more credits, maybe that is why.

yeah, no u can't scan our LSJ cars without hpt cord its weird. but EFI Live is way better and way nicer. yeah but you only have to buy credits for different vehicles, so if u buy a credit for ur cobalt u can tune anybody elses cobalt that has the same motor. u only have to buy credits (licenses) for if u wanted to tune a LS1 car or something way different like u buy a license for a cobalt u can tune a saturn ion redline also without buying a different license because they have the same motor

Was the guy using EFI V2? I was assured the V2 will work with the supplied hardware on our Cobalts. I also read it as you get 2 VIN's that you can unlock, not the whole P12 PCM family. http://www.efilive.com/pc-61-22-flas...-and-tune.aspx Although its 995$ to unlock all the P12 cars, which is a lot. The more I read about EFIlive the more I like. The wideband interface is really nice and they have many input variations available.

On the other hand though, HPT pro is 649 and will do 4 vehicles (for the most part) I loaded both programs on my PC and EFIlive does seem a little easier to use for a tard like myself. Maybe I need to meet up with someone local and see how to use HPT.

yeah he was using the V2, and idk ur prob right, but for some reason the tuner used an hpt cord to read it. and a guy I work with has the V2 scan only and he tried logging my car and it won't read it at all. it will read a 2.2l but not my 2.0

yeah with EFI Live u can read alot more things than HPT
