I'm going to be installing my egt gauge I'm asking how far from the head should i get the bung welded into the header? or should i run it more around the collector around the first o2 sensor.

 

BYT Located mine on the header itself, Believe its the furthest to the right if your laying below the car.

 

Mine is roughly 2" from the head on the #4 runner since it is furthest on the fuel rail and theoretically the leanest/hottest at WOT. It sounds like ULWiz has his on #1. Wish I had put one on all four runners to find out exactly which is hottest.

What kind of temps should be considered normal? I just got mine installed today and I saw up to 1400 F

 

depends on if you're super or turbo. i usually see 12000 on mine with the s256. mine is on the downpipe tho so it is a little off

 

It also depends how much throttle at any given time.

 

also depends on where you install it....

 

Mine is on primary #4 about 2 to 3 inches from the head. At WOT from a dig I checked it at 135 and my EGT's were about 1350 and I havent seen them even go over that
