Will I benefit from an electic cutout with my mods? I have a clear image auto header/dp, but stock catback

with tuning, yes. but with your current mods, you won't see much of a gain without tuning. Also, 3" will be too big, if you do get one, get a 2.5".

 

My downpipe goes back down to 2.5 inches to bolt up to my stock exhaust, so I would get 2.5 inch. I am gonna get meth in the next few months, so I will be getting tuned eventually, but is there any negative effects if I get it installed and my car isn't tuned for it.

 

sounds good. Just remember that you'll need a new tune to actually get the gain. If you put it on your car with no tuning, you'll more than likely feel a huge loss in power in the lower rpm range, and it will be loud as hell. So not something enjoyable at first. But with tuning, you can gain that low range back and pick up some topend power as well.

 

Is it worth the $200 plus install in your opinion? Also when it is shut it doesnt add any restriction to the exhaust flow right. I am in the process of gettting the part I need for next summer...lol...I am starng a little earlier than I planned.

But I am planning on exhaust cutout, bigger TB, and I think tune time performance is gonna put a meth kit together for me. He said it would be progressive with a controller and installed and tuned for about a$800. So Im just wondering if this exhaust mod would be beneficial.

Also will drivaility be okay or will the car stumble from a stand still...???

 

200 dollars, not worth it. I paid 75 bucks to buy mine and have it welded in, and that's on the high side. I found people to do it for WAY cheaper afterwards, but i was in a rush to have it installed cause I was heading to the track.

you car will perform fine when it is closed, no stumbling, and no restrictions.

anyways i had gm stage 2 kit at the time and took off my exhaust or un-bolted it. so running stock header/dp. the car sounds crazy loud and not so great. well not my style anyways. did backfire at low rpm's though and i guess sounded semi-okay.... actually scratch that it sounded like ass.

anyways low range i think i have a video on my computer at home of it and it went sooo slow down low lol

top end it was just really loud and i still doubt it was gaining power. i'd say it was hurting it all around. for sure slower
