Engine Power Reduced

Ok, so I got the Engine Power Reduced code on my dash. Don't have a scanner but I've been able to use the car for now by resetting the computer. Is is the MAF? O2 sensor? Someone already had this problem and fix the car?

Thanks much.

i had this problem a while back, but i got engine power reduced/engine disabled. what fixed that for me was replacing the TB and the TB wiring. Somewhere along that track one of the wires were cut and wasnt connecting properly for me. You could also check to make sure the PCM is connected, no loose connections.

Thanks guys, for now, i'm removing the negative cable battery to drive my car to work. I got a scanner from a friend so I'll let you know the code. Would you think this malfunction comes from a under the hood motor cleanup and that water may have damaged some wiring?

This happened to me 3 times already, i just turn the car off let it sit, turn it back on and if it still bogs, wich actually sounds like u got a bid ass engine in there, just keep repeating, once i locked the car then unlock and started up fine, its either from all my after market **** or the damn car

So after a few weeks Dealer took responsibility and "try" to fix the car. They said is the PCM. So yesterday got my car back from Dealer and car was doing fine after a 1.5 hour drive. However, I stop at my parents to pick up my mother and go to my niece birthday, I got the "Enginer Power Reduce" Message. Looks like the technician is a noob. Going back again to the dealer.

Make sure you get them to check the TB and its wiring. so far of the people who've had this problem most of the time it was fixed by replacing the tb/wiring for it.

Just check the wiring and the connector that goes to the TB theres is a service bulletin for this they get loose, specially if you removed the supercharger (the clip for the connector breaks). My fix was put some RTV around the edge of the connector and plugged back in.

like everyone else already stated. i also had this problem and it could be either the throtlebody for sure if not then its the primary o2 sensor on the header that took a dump. for me it was both lol unfortunately but yea its easy to fix. hope u get it fixed. btw the new throtlebodys are like 135 from the dealer and o2s are around 100 as well. fyi

Update

Car has been on stealer-ship since Wednesday. Haven't got a call from them. Good thing is they are paying for labor and parts. Thanks for your comments.

if u had warranty, you could had gone to the dealer pic up the part and do it ur self. it takes no more than 30 mins to do ur throttle body with forks and knives if u had no tools. I hate the dealer they just love taking there sweet as time even if its for the simplest thing in the world, just so they could charge more for labor, even when ur not paying for it.

Same thing just happened to my 07 SS/SC, Wiggled some wires on the tb and it was back to full power on the next start. My intake had been off by P/O a few years ago, but the problem seems to have been spontaneous
