Engine Problem?

Ive noticed that when i come to a stop or a light, while my car is in neutral, the rpms seem to jump up to like 1500 then back don to like 500. It seems lke the car is going to stall but then it jumps right back up. It does this like 2 or 3 times when i come to a stop, but it dosent always happen. It happens more when its really hot out, i have no idea why it does this, thats why of coure i am asking for your help. I was thinking that it could be the spark plugs but i dk. Any help would be appreciated.

I had the same problem on my SRT when I had it. Problem there was that the TPS (Throttle Positioning Sensor) was too close to the intake manifold so it would get really hot, then cold. Therefore expand and shrink, till it broke and fried. Might want to look into that. It was a Dodge.

I love my SS. Just installed a CAI, wow, I love that supercharger whine

my rpms fluctuate on their own based on loads like if i feather the clutch a little it will jump up and down. Also, i've learned that on my car the the rpms run higher when rolling at speeds in nuetral than at a stop. I think its the tune and its anticipation for power tranfer possibly.

The RPMs being higher when cruising in nuetral is normal. It shouldn't be dropping down so low when you stop though. You may just need a reflash or perhaps you have a small vacuum leak somewhere...

I;m pretty sure we have a cycling clutch system and when the ac clutch engages it will make the rps go up and when the pressure is reached it will just off and do this repeatedly.

have same prob but only when i turn ac on and off...but just double check your vacuum line to make sure theres no cracks or holes....if it keeps happening take it to dealer and let them look at it...thats why you have warranty
