Engine problems, Help

ok so i have an 06 ss/sc and latley it starts sputtering while im driving, and the when i stop it wants to just die all together and there is this horrible smell. i have noticed that this happens when it rains really bad, but im not a mechanic. The only mod i have is an injen cold air intake, I had thought that it might be taking water into the engine,but im unsure. Any one else had the happen?

does it smell like rotten egg it could possibly be a really badly clogged cat can you step on the car without it sputtering and if you can what is the boost level
i think you should take it to a shop

Yeah sounds like a cat, I'm probably less of a mechanic then OP, but this happened to my friends highlander and we thought it was the cats but it ended up being his timing belt/chain thing being off by a few teeth, but we do have poop cats

Hmm, if it only happens when it rains, it may be the MAF sensor getting wet. But that dosent explaint the smell.

mine did that before the cat went bye bye lol, the cats have a 80 ks warranty on them, and some special recalls upto 120 ks if u fall into any of these catorgories take it the dealer...

my car's symptoms when my cat was clogged :

* Bad Smell
* Sputtering
* Boost Over 20 psi on Stage 2 lol
* Power Reduced Big Times :x
