What is the diameter of the k&n pipe, can't be much bigger then the stock one is or it would not fit through the hole to go into the fender well. Even if it was 1/2 and inch wider it's not going to help your intake unless you replace you throttle body as well to make that bigger. I would spend the extra 200 bucks elsewhere, and if you get the metal pipe it will make the intake temp hotter then the plastic stock intake.

I have been preaching this alot recently and its good to hear that i'm not alone.
CAI's look and sound awesome, but paying 230+ bucks for one is ROBBERY on these cars.
I have personally had both an Injen CAI and just a K&N filter on my car and i honestly cannot tell the difference except with sound.
So if you have one, more power to you, but if you are considering getting one for performance gains, just buy a K&N and spend the left over 200 bucks on a motor mount, torque dampener, or downpipe.
Is that leaving the the airbox cover in tact, if so the mod is better, with the airbox intact the air intake is being plumbed to the airfilter through a hole the size of my nextel phone instead of the air filter being exposed all the way around.
