exaust question

ok first off not trying to offend anyone at all. but im looking for an exhaust that doesnt sound like complete rice... everything ive heard on youtube sounds terrible. im just wondering if there is some secret combo of headers or anything to not sound identical to a civic at more then 3 grand.
thx for any help

stock muffler

hahn muffler sounds good(hahn cat back sounds good but is loud)

jbp header sounds good, but provides no performance benefits over stock manifold...so if ur not stock or dont plan on staying stock, dont bother getting it

ottp long tube has a nice/deeper sound to it

a high flow cat helps keep the rasp away

use as big of a resonator as you can fit under the car

fiberglass blows out...

your best bet is gmpp touring catback, with a catted header and dp, maybe vibrant, zzp, or ottp make good ones, im running zzp headers, 3" dp, and 2.5 catback with no resonator and borla muffler, and i dont get any rasp once it warmed

Corsa Touring or GMPP Touring.

Both sound almost stock while cruising, but open up nicely at WOT w/o raspy rice sounds.

I have the Corsa Touring & love it. Ive also had the GMPP Touring Muffler welded on to the stock catback & that sounded nice as well.

you really get the best bang for you buck with Hahn. they produce a 3" stainless steel exhaust system that sounds ****** awesome....performs better......and looks better.......for $300 less than what Magnaflow charges. Now granted my Magnaflow cat-back was only $440 shipped, but thats because i bought it from a secondary party. IMO....if you want a great exhaust....go with the Hahn.

3in exhaust is too big for stock and mildly modded cobalts.. you might loose some torque and a little power but you'll get it back when you pulley down and whatnot..

I had a GMPP touring and loved how it sounded on my SS/SC. If i had it to do over again i would have went with the corsa touring because its 2.5" . IMHO ...if you can't hear the blower whine ....your car's too loud 8)

the only reason it says that is because its a 3 inch system. when you go that big...you really need to be laying down the ponies in order for the exhaust to do its job. if not...then your in a sense "shooting yourself in the foot" with your power output.
