exhaust

i am looking into getting either a stage 2 or 3 kit for my cobalt ss/sc. I have someone that is going to sell me a magnaflow exhaust, 2 and 1/2 in pipe with a 9in muffler, and wanted to knwo if that would be the best choice or if i needed to get an exhaust with a bigger or smaller pipe size?

What are your power goals for the car? Just out of curiosity you know there are better stage kits for cheaper then gm's correct? The ottperformance.com stage 1 kit is MUCH quicker then the stage 2 kit, gives you much more power and is cheaper!

I recommend keeping your exhaust stock until you do your header and downpipe upgrade. If you upgrade the exhaust department all at once it is much easier and sounds much much better. I recommend going 3 inch on the header/downpipe/custom exhaust. You can get a nice custom exhaust for about 250 bucks at a local shop, its pretty sweet.

well i was looking into the ZZP kits, and cant beat the price i am gettin this exhaust(just found out its a turboback exhaust, not catback) for. But its for a Talon and the guy says that I can just get it bent to fit, and him knowing the guy that does that will get me a good price for it.

You dont want a ZZP kit, Trust me.

Check out the OTTP stage 1, Best stage kit there is.

If you plan to go with a 2.8 pulley or smaller get a 3'' exhaust and header/down pipe

ok, can you give me the reason why i dont want ZZP? Im sorry I am the type of person that needs reasons, facts, or something ya know. And have been doin some research and to me it seems as if the 3" exhaust puts more back- pressure that a 2 1/2" does. But that info might be wrong, anyone else know anything about that?

no u wanna keep a little back pressure so uhave more tq/hp thru out the rpm range instead of just high end// also i just test drove my car after putting on ott stage 1.......WOW...18.5 psi injen intake 2 intercoolers, hks muffler....next is the cti header/ 3inch catless db.... i did a hp test on my interceptor gauge.. here results

before ott stage 1, but with all other mods listed above......243 hp at crank
after ott...........303 hp at crank.
dont know how accurate it is but its been pretty consistant

Our kit contains everything there's does and more.

They only give you 42's our kit has 60's so there is room for growth if you ever pulley down or decide to change your setup.

The price on our kit is lower and a better value for what you get.

The tune is top notch and will offer a very nice increase over a stock setup.

I cant list the flaws in their kit without getting yelled at by the mods....

Just search around here...

Also 3'' will always flow better, What you want is velocity NOT back pressure, Back pressure is bad nomater what motor, what setup.

the ott stage kit 1 as they call it its better than the gm stage 2 or 3 if ur not worried about warranty that is. biggert injectors, smaller pulley, and a better tune and its a tune with all ur current mods on the car too not only for the stage kit
