exhaust clamps
exhaust clamps
if i have a exhasut thats cut into a couple sections, how well do the exhuast clamps work over welding it all together? ive been getting some rediculous quotes on welding the exhaust back together, seems like i can use these clamps myself, and i can take it off my car and put my stock one on whenever id like. are these stainless clamps just as good as welding, as in no leaks? any input?

Ours was a buddy at a shop that was cool about just doing welding for some cash on the side. Your mileage may vary.
I'm sure there's a car club around your city, just ask them where the cheap, low traffic shop is. It may appear kind of skeezy, but they'll generally work under the table for cash and go the extra yard for ya.
When I had my exhaust put on, I noticed that the muffler would kind of shake around in the back (due to the weight of all that stainless steel and stretchy rubber hangers). I swung back and the guy welded up a bracket that fixed the problem completely, and he wasn't even going to charge me.
It's that sort of service that has my whole club going there exclusively.
