Hi I was up in the air about an exhaust to get for the whip. My future plans were stage 2 and maybe 2.9, but right now all I have is whats in my sig, so pretty much stock. People were telling to to get a 2.25 to 2.5 inch exhaust because back pressure is good for low rpm. With the mods I want should I get a 3 inch, I also planned on getting a dp/headers as well. Which size would be the best? I was gonna go with the vibrant 3" or is that too big?

 

If you plan on making over 300 HP get the 3.0" vibrant setup. Anything under 300 HP get the 2.5" corsa or magnaflow system.

i like the idea of a custom 2.5 magnaflow, youll save the money.. but just with a 2.9 stage 2 a 2.5" is pleeenty of room. i had a big discussion on this a couple weeks ago, the header and downpipe is pretty restrictive, zzp has its combo that is a good buy. but if you do replace them (header/downpipe/exhasut), youll gain sooo much more power with getting 60s and a 2.7 <--just to be safe im just scared of my s/c blowing out after one year with a 2.5.. but of course with cooling mods, youll yield a much higher hp percentage with that set up getting the most out of your buck. with that though its a personal choice of getting a 3.0" catback, having a 2.5 with that is completely fine and its what ill be rolling on, you would get a little more hp with a 3.0 but A.) it wont be that much more noticebale and B.) youll hear it for miles around. try and drop off your girl with that and not wake up anyone C.) more exhaust sound the less you can hear your s/c.. i think the s.c whine is more appealing that a louder exhaust that any guy could have. also depends on how loud you want it, personally i like mine whisper quite i dont think loud exhaust is attractive at all unless its a 500hp vette or vice versa. if i didnt go wiht a custom exhaust i do like the magnaflow and corsa 2.5 set-ups. the gmpp is cash in the trash sorry guys that have it but they know buying it wasnt gonna yield the best hp and i think its overpriced. the choices are out there man, all depends on what you personally like and want to see performance wise. people forget that we all bought a cobalt knowing it wasnt gonna be the fastest thing around or i would of stayed with my evo.... BUY AMERICAN!!

 

Thanks a lot bro this really helps. I like the set up you mentioned, a 2.7 and 60s sounds nice. But you mentioned about blowing out the s/c with 2.5 with that set up, can that happen with a 2.5 inch and that setup?

uhm gmpp all other systems are extreamly over priced, look at crate engine, i think they still have them for 350 somthin, they are going to be marked up here soon. i love mine...
