Exhaust help

Alright first off i dont need someone coming in saying dual exhaust is stupid and ur gonna lose back pressure and all that **** so save it...

i plan on going 3 inch all the way back til over the axel then making a 90* bend and either

A. going with a crossflow style muffler than 2 2.5 outlets to exhaust tips

or

B. going with a Y pipe and to 2 mufflers

the reason I am stuck is because i dont want to go with 1 muffler and it be too loud but yet i dont wanna run 2 mufflers and it be too quiet...any help?

I would just do a single magnaflow race series muffler with dual outlets... run them out with the dual tips!

It'll keep it nice and loud, and not give the dual restriction of 2 mufflers!

BTW that muffler you have for sale is it a 3" inlet?

Yeah, "MOST" of the Magnaflow, Dynomax, and Flowmaster are all DOT sound legal!

Hooker and Spintec... I don't know how they would sound... Edelbrock I'm sure would be good!

How the hell should I know... I don't live in Cali!

I think Magnaflow's just seem to sound the best on our cars!

I have a magnaflow 2.5" muffler now... and I am jumping to 3" here once tax returns get back... hmmmmm maybe we can work something out!

having done the crossflow, i know you've probably heard me say my crossflow 80 series sounds like crap, but i bet most crossflow 3" to two 2.5" will probably sound similar. I'd do the y pipe, it promotes better flow as well and is easier to do, less weight, etc. I'm switching to Y pipe in spring absolutely.

intake adds about 6-7hp. i'd estimate about 124-130 whp with your mods.

never go by what they claim the gains are. i'm just trying to be realistic, so you're not disapointed when you finally do get a dyno. many, many 2.2 owners think they have much more than they do, and are very disacpointed when the dyno in the 130 whp range.
