Exhaust noise
Exhaust noise
It just started about couple weeks ago. I have a different sound coming from the exhaust then I have ever herd from it. Cant explain the noise but its higher pitched than before. I have a Magnaflow cat-back. At Idle its fine and the sound is most prevelant when I first startup and take off. After the car has been running for a while it only sound that way when I am farely heavy on the gas. I looked inside the muffler and cant see anything unusual. Could it be a bad Cat converter or resonator issue?
Anyone else have any Ideas??

So when it is cold it makes a higher pitched exhaust note? Then when it warms up it turns into a deeper with no rasp tone? Mine does the exact same thing. Post a video. Shouldn't be gunning the car when it is cold anyway. :P Haha
When I start the car you wont hear it. Just when I take off and It doesnt have to be a fast take off nothing over 2000-3000 rpm. When the car is warm it comes at a higher rpm. The exact noise is hard to explain its sort of a raspy sound like something is loose but as the car gets hotter the it seem to go away until much higher rpms (say 4-5000)
I have the exact same problem. Took it in to the dealer and they told me it was the converter plugging up, which they wouldn't fix because of the cold air intake. I switched the airbox back to stock and took it back in and they couldn't find anything wrong with it. Still making the same noise.
Ok do you have the magnaflow muffler as well, if so they pack them with something and after so long it fails, i dont know more than that about them, just that a friend said not to get one for that reason
Do you all have magnaflow tip?
