exhaust question

I have a magnaflow exhaust but with a XTC Vibrant Downpipe. It is really raspy under WOT. Does the cat have anything to do with the rasp and can it get eliminated without replaceing the exhaust. I hate the rasp and if the downpipe is the main cause I'll put the stock one back on. Any info is appreciated.

usually a cattless d/p causes the "rice" sound to emerge from the finest of 4cyl exhaust systems. Maybe the hiflow might be causing it. I know what you mean, I hate that sound too... way cheap sounding.

so there is nothing that will help tune down the rasp? I'm very disappointed with magnaflow. I though it had a much better sound than what i have. I hate it.

get a aftermarket resonator, as long as possible (28" 30" if it can fit), it will calm down the rasp, and the car will be quieter.

It's a magnaflow catback. I assume their resonator is on it.

if there is awesome, put another one on or replace it with a longer one.. I got a 2x", cant really remember, because my system did not come with one and it helped so much! I have no rasp when it is warmed up and I have full exhaust.
