alright guys i need help deciding on an muffler

right now i have the corsa touring , 2.5" from cat back. and also the vibrant headers dp/ 3"

i want it to be quieter, its to loud for me and its hard to hear the supercharger whine

im looking for near stock sound without the restriction.

couple ideas i had were...

1) try to wrap the whole exhaust in heat tape from headers back.

2) new header/dp... 2.5" (dont want to do though because ill be pushing around 280-300hp when im done with mods)

3)new muffler....was looking at spin tech... looked interesting

4) run dual mufflers (round sport in middle, another one at the end) NOT DUAL OUT, one out 2 inline mufflers

if anyone can help that would be awesome

 

Thats strange, I thought the Corsa Touring was supposed to be pretty low in the db range???

Oh, and by the way, you may as well go down to a 2.5 DP.

An exhaust is only as big as its smallest point.
So if you have a 2.5 cat back, then thats all your flowing.

Someone correct me if I am wrong.

 

Give me your vibrant header and DP and Ill give you my stock header and DP . I bet if you put a big resonater in the catback somewhere, it will quiet down alot.

 

that's what i was going to say. i had the same issue on my last cobalt, and put in a resonator. it helped alot. get a nice performance resonator and if you still don't like it a new muffler. but the 3" is going to be louder than a 2.5"

 

ya im going to keep it 2.5" cat back. it already has a resonator from the corsa, a big ass one too.

i could try a different one, or a bigger muffler 2.5" of course
