Explain the laminova cores

What do these cores exactly do? Why does the cobalts use these for? I recently bought an 2010 srt8 jeep and been looking into the kenne bell kits for it and seems they don't use these.
Thanks

Laminova cores go into the intake manifold of a vehicle with a roots blower. Because a roots blower doesn't actually compress the air it forces it down into the manifold where it compresses, it gets extremely hot. The laminova cores act as "pipes" that house coolant. The coolant lowers the charge temps and then that coolant is sent to a heat exchanger, similar to a radiator.

here is a good video of what the Supercharged cobalt motor does. The laminova cores are right under the blower, the pipe looking things in the intake manifold

Yes, you can use a simple intercooler like a turbo that routes fluid rather than using laminova cores. GM just thought this would be a better idea.
