"Wheel hop is basically the suspension gets into a resonant situation and doesn't dampen itself out.
Under acceleration, the suspension compresses. Due to inertia, the wheel continues traveling upward. This unloads the tire, reducing the acceleration force. The spring then pushes back down on the wheel, and it regains traction, forcing the wheel back up."

Its BAD dont do it. You can brake things if you do.
Best mods for wheel hop are Control arm bushings, and trans mounts. Add a motor mount in there and you should be good.
Dampers dont work nearly as well and cost more then trans mounts.
Any one that ses otherwise is defending ther damper not stating a fact.

I would reccomend bushings and mounts though as well. There seems that there is a lot of shock in the drivetrain on this car, at least from my personal experience. Stiffening up things would be a definite improvement.
