First dipstick now Oil Cap! WTF!

well as I said before my dipstick popped out and oil went everywhere do I ghetto fixed it with bigger O rings. worked great. Today the OIL CAP pushed up and started shooting oil out. WTF! So we went to Ace Hardware and picked up a gasket that seals that whole around the oil cap to the valve cover. So I was on the highway and doing a run against my buddy. He said it was sick on WOP but then he heard a pop right as I shifted and then I took off from him really fast. then he heard me slow down and hit the brakes because I smelled oil burning. So I pulled over and the car just was smoking hardcore from the front. I shut it off and was like what now. So then I found the dipstick once more sticking half-way out. Oil was everywhere AGAIN! so we cleaned it off on the side of the high-way and went to a mobil gas station where I had to buy 2 quarts of mobil because I was 1-1/2 quart down. sorry for the rant but all in all OUR PCV SYSTEM SUCKS!

Just to let you know ahead of the game you blew the ring lands on your pistons so congrats

Be prepared to take apart your engine cuz your cars about to become undrivable.

Same thing just happened to me and I just used it as an excuse to get the Diamonds
Damn I was afraid of that! I heard our PCV system sucks though so I was hoping that was all but I figured the ring lands were the issue. Oh well I guess Ill just have to fork over some money to MAHLE for their forged pistons! how do you like those diamonds? I have the 2.5 with 60# injectors and Im pretty leary of upping the compression that much!

The PCV system in the 2.2 sucks the PCV system in the LSJ is more than good enough for anything.

You actually have MAHLE pistons in your car right now btw.

Havent gotten my car back yet, so I cant tell you about the Diamonds however the MAHLE aftermarket pistons are waaaay to low of a compression to make any power unless you wanna go 30psi.

I'm guessing your running an Intense tune or some variant of it?

and they will be sitting there at the shop waiting for you to tow it back to them too

just like every other manufacturer making cars for the "tuner" crowd.

I went to Rob in Indiana for a tune. it ran perfect though for a long time I never had any problems for the last 6 months. And BTW I thought the MAHLE forged pistons are Stock Compression Ratio???

Mahle makes the pistons in the stock LSJ block but also makes aftermarket LSJ pistons at the 8.5:1 compression ratio

Theres a huge difference cuz of lower compression ration and the fact that they're forged, I'm just pointing out that MAHLE makes the stock LSJ pistons.

The company that makes the stock LSJ pistons is Mahle. Mahle also makes forged aftermarket pistons for the LSJ that have a compression ratio of 8.5:1. Also, im sure if you contact them you can have them make any compression ratio you want.
