First hand experience?

So I'm looking at getting an exhaust for the Cobalt, but the internets do a poor job of accurately representing what they sound like.

I found the Megan "drift spec" for less than $400 online. Does anybody have any experience with this? I don't want to end up burning rice! How loud is it? The car is my daily driver and I don't want to be obnoxious. Can I expect [I]any[I] gains from a bolt on exhaust (5hp)?

I've done some research but I hesitate to drop $400 without being sure or talking to those who have already walked down this road. The only other mods are my torque damper and complete removal of the airbox.

The GMPP Sport or Magnaflow are also under consideration, but they are more expensive.

I have an older megan exhaust. I couldn't tell you which model bc I got it from a buddy of mine, but it's pretty loud.

the hahn was like 700if i remember correctly, but that was brand new
the hahn is no longer produced and peaple are selling then between 300 and 400

just a word of advice, after you decide the wxhaust be carful on your header selection
my buddy and i both have the 3'' Hahn with a 3'' catless DP, he has GMPP honed manifold and his car was nothing but rasp. I have the JBP header and it sounds beautiful, no rasp quiet cruise, and get on it its stupid nasty loud =D

Megan is most likely the worst for the SC cars. Raspy as hell but gets the flow part done.

I have the Megan-Drift Spec catback, I bought it new from NGA Motorsports this past winter and I got it for literally $299.99 shipped to my door. It ended up coming from Megan Racing out in Cali and not from NGA but its all good right? lol I think it sounds really good. It is pretty loud. I can't imagine what a cat-less downpipe would sound like on it, holy hell! Mine doesn't really have any rasp but it does sound really mean. For the price, being that it is stainless, I would def. recommend it. If you can spend closer to $500, get the ZZP, def the best on for the price on the market currently IMO.

if your looking for cheap id suggest buying an LNF stock exhaust and just throwing on a bigger resonator.
