Thumbs down Flashing Cel

I just got my Stage 2 with nates 2.9 and it rips. so i was passing some DB in a jetta and my motor felt like it just died. it was at like 110 almost at the end of third , i look down and my CEL is Flashing on and OFF. So i let off and baby it home. Has any one had this problem?? I think maybe im getting way to much fuel?

I though if it blinked that it meant miss-fire.

i think that means that the cat is super over heated and is about to burn up. probably due to incomplete combustion....

blinking means its not an urgent matter, solid means it should be taken care of quickly. Thats just the gm way of doing it

the flashing does not automatically make it a misfire even though everyone and thier mom seems to think that

...it means..."the system is down" ..then the next thing you know your car will come in with a "buna bunahh buna bunahh" all low and fast...then it will come in with a chirp like "punnuh punah nuh nuh punnah punah"...and it will start throwing a headlight rave! (homestar runner reference...just so you know)

Jesus there are some STUPID ******* answers in this thread.

It at least means a misfire...better hope it is p0300 that means your plugs are dead...if it is specific(p030x) you could have a much bigger problem

Any car that is OBD-II, flashing CEL means misfire...beings that your engine died when you did it, I would start saving up for new pistons now.

Cat over temp is a solid CEL.

If it was flashing and the second you got off of it it went away I am willing to bet my bike it was a misfire...it happened to me not to long ago...

...changed my plugs and it went away

flashin cel does not only mean misfire, ive thrown a ton of misfire codes p0300 and the light comes on solid, it never flashes.
actually next time it happens Ill take a video with my interceptor showing the code and the check engin light. It always happens when we are tuning and screwing with things

there really are alot of mis-informed people in this thread. a flashing cel means that there is a catalyst damaging misfire, if it stops blinking the cat is no longer in danger, but there could be a misfire still, and anytime the cel lights up it stores a code in history. this is the only thing a flashing cel means.
