Flywheel hurting me?

i have a fidanza lightweight flywheel and my friend was saying that it would hurt me at the drag strip causing the wheels to spin too much...this true??? everytime ive gone to the track i get 60's of like 2.5 or so......and they did spin but i didnt drive it at the strip with the stock flywheel

That would be like saying your 2.85" pulley is hurting you at the track. Learn how to launch and it will help out pretty well.

its funny you say that, because honestly the 2.85 is making so much boost off the line it makes it easier to spin the tires, plus it is creating more heat without any cooling mods so he is prolly knocking and heat soaking which, last time I checked, is hurting him.

sounds like driver error to me. TYPICALLY, you want to run as light a flywheel as possible

all the flywheel does is make ur revs go up faster and fall down faster as less weight has to be turned

It takes horsepower to spin the flywheel. The lighter the flywheel, the more power there is available to go to the wheels. Sure it'll make it easier to spin the wheels, but that's because you're putting more power to the ground. Last time I checked, horsepower is a good thing.

the bigger problem you have then the flywheel is the fact you have no traction mods, and you are making 30-40 more hp than stock

let some of the air out of your tires....take a gauge with you and air em down to about 26 psi...just make sure to reinflate them before you leave the track.

honestly get a solid engine mount and tranny mounts and spend some time practicing launching and you will improve your times a lot... I am stock (engine) besides an intake and I could never get traction and now i have what i have in my sig (too lazy to post it) and i still spin the tires but you can launch a hell of a lot better.... and if you do get slicks do NOT get 18's lol

I have a fidenzza with a stock clutch in mine ....it only helped me .

Mounts and radial tires =

Mounts and slicks = ...your axles will love u more 2 as the soft sidewall wont shock them like radial does . Plus the sport edition F7s are 19 lbs each so u save 10lbs rotational weight .

To search the 16" rims on tire rack use a 2004 Saturn L200 .

What I meant was the flywheel was hurting you off the line. Not it was hurting your performance. I wouldn't have spent the extra money to put the lighter flywheel in it if I thought it would hurt the performance. Lol You need some sticky tires and some practice and it will help you. I just meant with the street tires and nothing else to help you it would get out of the hole a little better with the stock flywheel on the street tires you have.
