Front mount heat exchanger?

So, most people are going with the stock cobra heat exchanger and making it fit the front of the cobalt. On ebay the range from 40-60 dollars. However they sell high perfomance ones for the cobra for 170-200$. The heat exchanger for the SS is about 350$. What do you guys think about going with the high perfomace cobra heat exchanger? Or is that a waste of money? Do you think it would just be best to get the on that is for the cobalt? Thanks....

cx racing you can buy, plus 3/4 heater hose, get some custom brackets made. all in all will cost you around 200 bucks give or take and you can have it in 1/10th the time. and its a bigger heat exchanger.

I was at SMG motorsports today and discussed this mod with Fred Jr. (who by the way does awesome work) and im now on board with getting a CX racing HE and a zzp downpipe+high flow cat and ditch the header idea. Per Fred the stock header isnt that bad and for the money only gives about 5hp. He says that hes seeing good HP gains by just bolting up a HE.

If youre considering between these options go for all the cooling you can get. Im installing the DP+B right now so im getting there.

Does the CX racing require much fabbing and/or cutting??

um i did alot of cutting well the front member i did.i bolted the h/e right up to the frame no brackets the whole projct took me about 5 hours not cause i didnt know what i was doing but the fact that i did it right alot of guys shove it in there and bend the stock h/e back and i just didnt want to do that and they let it hang to low
