fuel gauge reading backwards
hey guys i need some help. i had an engine swap done under warranty. The dealership told me that the car wasnt running correctly so they had to flash the computer with an 2005 flash. my car is a 2006. does the 2005 model fuel gauge read full when the needle is to the left or the right? any input would be awsome before i tear it apart. and going back to the dealer isnt an option. the service manager was fired and the dealer went under. lol wonder why.

i was lied to. MY vehicle sat at their dealership for 7 months while i sorted out the original mess. the motor had a rod fail believe it or not on a stock motor at 70,000 miles. so they were going to replace the motor under warranty. 7 months later they handed me a bill for 5 grand and the car still wasnt correct. the engine bay was all fucked up. i had to replace sections of the harness that were left untaped or routed wrong and had worn through so the wires were shorting out. the car was flashed for a 2005 model instead of 2006 so it was haveing some issues like the gas guage was backwards and not accurate, and misc electrical problems. they never filled the intercooler or radiator after the reinstalled them. they royaly fucked up. then since it was my daily driver and i just got it back after 7 months i havent had time to bring it back to have them fix these issues even if they agreed to do so. three years later i call them explain the situation. got a confirmation that it would be taken care of they would straighten out their mess and i wouldnt be charged. i dropped my car off last night. i get a call this morning saying that they were going to charge my 100 bucks to do this. i stopped on my way into work at the dealer to confront this guy. he said that its been too long and that even tho they have records they arent enough to suggest that they fix the problems they created. and then he locked my only set of keys in the car. awsome now i have to try and unlock my car later on tonight in their parking lot after work.

now that im done ranting lol to the best of my knowledge the fuel guage direction is controlled by the ecu i dont think that it can be reversed just by changing the polarity. but I really havent had a free moment to really diagnose whats going on and how to fix it. I'm really concerned about the car being flashed for the wrong year tho. im not sure if the fuel trims and ignition settings are different from 2005 to 2006. the fual guage ive just been living with but im about done with it the way it is.
edit. i didnt have them flash the car, i didnt have the 100 bucks on me so i gave em the big f u. so the car currently has the 05 flash.

05 thru 07 cobalts and 04thru 06 redlines use the same pcm with a minor difference in the operating system so you can use an 07 pcm in an 05 or pull a pcm out of a redline you just need to get it flashed at the dealer with the correct op system for your vin number
