octane makes no difference in power. octane is solely resistance to detonation. your tune is optimized for premium fuel so it should not knock on 91 octane. you will have no benefit from using a higher octane on stock tune

Sub'd. Id like to know what people say on this. Often wondered if the octane booster would help at all.

additives that are petroluem based "gel" in the lower area of the tank and can get in your fuel tank

some examples of this are Lucas and STP

the only additive i would use would be "cleaners" RXP, Seafoam etc.

if you need to bump in octane i suggest finding better gas or utilizing meth injection as an alternative octane delivery system

Yeah meth for the win, Meth is the best octane delivery option, you go from pump gas too 110-116 octane. And that my friend you will feel a diffrence in..

... when properly tuned for...

With the GM Stage 2 tune and 91 octane gaz, I get up to 5 degrees of knock. I always have consistent knock after 4000 rpm in full boost in 3rd gear. In 2nd gear I get some but because the RPMs raises fast, I cannot see as much consistent knock.

Then I tried the NOS Max Racing Octane booster. On the bottle they say that it raises octane level by 60 points... so in reality this is +6. So from 91 I should get 97... but in reality this is often overrated so lets say that this equals to 95.

The fact is no matter how much more octane I have, when I use this octane booster I have NO KNOCK anymore with the GM Stage 2 tune. Plus, I can feel more power up top because I don't get those timing retards !!!

Now, if you read my signature, you can see 2.7" pulley, 60 lbs injectors but the fact is that for the winter, I put back my 42lbs, 3" GM pulley and my GM tuned PCM (stock PCM). I'm now again on that setup. I broke my 2.7" pulley because it couldn't fit easily on the GM hub but I'm gonna order it soon and this time, I'm gonna sand the inside of the pulley so it will fit into the hub

I'm curious as to what would happen with my upgrades of ott tune with 60's 2.8 and I always get gas at the station near my house that sells 92 gas with no ethonal. But I am also curious to know what would happen if I went to sunoco for their 100 octane gas on my tune or the 92 gas with a octane booster with my tune. Would I see a difference in either 3 combos

octane doesn't do anything for power unless it is tuned to run more ignition timing advance. you are wasting your money and actually making less power if it's not knocking on pump gas

True, before i started upgrading my ZX6R i actualy found i get abit more power and throttle response with lower octane gas.

wasnt a dirt bike, it was a gixxer. He was having issues with his motor, thought it was the octane level, went into a gas station thinking they sold the NOS octane booster and bought the energy drink and dumped it into his gas tank. Engine siezed up a week later.
