Fuel Pressure

I couldn't find anything using search. Does anyone know what fuel pressure the stock injectors for an 07 cobalt SS 2.0 opperate at? I am needing to tune a car for the 60 and have a conversion table in excell ready to go but I need to know the stock opperating fuel pressure.

34 lb/hr is the flow rate. the fuel system is pressurized at 58psi static flow

sorry. static flow was the wrong choice of words.
static flow means not under vacuum or boost. a term used primarily when dealing with vacuum operated return fuel systems. ours has a returnless fuel system, where the pump tries to maintain a constant pressure

simplified answer, our fuel system operates at 58psi

How would you go about measuring the fuel rail pressure?

go to autozone, buy or rent a fuel pressure gauge. it threads on to the shrader valve (black cap, on feed line above fuel rail) if you have an ss/sc you need to take off the black rail cover.

Ok. Thanks.

Do I have to buy one of those full on 300 dollar fuel pressure gauges, or can i buy a unit for measuring the pressure similar to a tire pressure gauge? What I mean is can i get something less elaborate that I can just slap on there while the car is running to make sure fuel pressure is right?

Yeah. I know what the rated fuel pressure is, I am just not certain that mine is running there. After tuning every which way, and it still runs scary lean, and really weird. And a buddy of mine has mods very similar to me, and runs really rich.

you can log it in HPT is you wire in an external I/O for a FPS.

58psi is normal pressure.

my gauge was $26 at autozone.
HPT will log just about anything if you set up an external I/O, but i thought he was talking about having a PID for it.

neo01, what mods do you have and exactly how lean is your afr?
